Good to know
Questions, answered.
Everything parents and supporting adults tend to ask before they start.
Getting started
Who writes the sessions?
Every Swimera session is created by Emily Norris, a qualified swimming teacher with over ten years’ teaching experience, and updated as guidance develops. Swimera is still supportive home guidance, not qualified instruction, and never replaces lessons, lifeguards or professional advice.
What age is it for?
Swimera can support swimmers of any age. Choose activities by current ability, comfort and the pool environment—not age alone.
Do parents need swimming qualifications?
No. Swimera is written for parents and supporting adults. Clear demonstrations and simple cues help you support practice without presenting yourself as a qualified swimming teacher.
Do I need special equipment?
No specialist equipment is required. Some activities can use a venue-approved float if one is available.
What’s the difference between levels and packs?
The seven levels are a structured pathway from first water confidence through to swimming 100 metres — start at Level 1 and work through in order. Family games, stroke plans and focused skill packs are standalone, ten-session packs you can buy any time to focus on one thing—like backstroke, diving or a rainy-day pool game—alongside or instead of the level pathway.
Which level should we start on?
If you’re not sure, take the two-minute quiz on the levels page—it asks a few questions about current comfort and ability and suggests a starting level. You can always move up or down; nothing is locked to age.
Safety and supervision
Do I have to use Swimera alongside lessons?
No. Families can use Swimera alongside lessons, between lessons or as a structured resource for their own pool time. It is supportive guidance rather than qualified instruction, and never replaces close supervision, lifeguards, venue rules or professional advice.
Can my child use it alone?
No. A responsible adult must provide constant, close supervision and remain actively involved.
What if my child is nervous?
Go slowly, offer choices and return to a comfortable activity. Stop if they are distressed, tired or uncomfortable.
What if an activity doesn’t suit our pool or venue?
Always follow the venue’s own rules, depth markings and lifeguard instructions first—skip or adapt any activity that doesn’t fit, and choose a different one from the same session instead.
Progress and access
Does completing a level mean my child can swim at that grade?
It means they have worked through and practised every session in that level. Swimera is a home practice pathway and its certificate is a personal record, not a formal swimming qualification or award.
How do I access what I’ve bought?
Straight after payment you land on your private library, and we also email you a permanent access link—keep that email safe, since it’s the fastest way back in on any device without needing to log in again.
Do I need an account?
Yes, you sign in to buy so your levels and packs are tied to your account. Once bought, your emailed access link also works on its own on any device, without signing in again.
Can I track more than one child?
Yes. Add as many swimmers as you like to your account, assign each their own level, and their progress, sessions completed and certificates are tracked separately.
Does access ever expire?
No. Every level and pack is a one-time payment with permanent access—there’s no subscription and nothing to renew.
Pricing and packs
How much does Swimera cost?
Each level is £19.99, or all seven together as a bundle for £99.99 (saving £39.94 on the individual price). Family game packs are £5.99 each, stroke plans £7.99 and focused skill packs £4.99, each sold separately or as a group bundle that costs less than buying them one by one. Every price is a one-time payment and includes VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay.
Is there a subscription?
No. Every level, pack and bundle is a single one-time payment—there’s no recurring charge and no subscription to cancel.
Can I buy just one pack instead of a whole level?
Yes. Family games, stroke plans and focused skill packs are sold individually, so you can pick exactly the ten-session pack you want without buying a full level.
What if I want a refund?
Because access is granted immediately, our standard cancellation window doesn’t apply once your link has been issued—but if something’s faulty or not as described, we’ll sort it out. See our Terms of sale & use page for the full policy, or just get in touch.
